I have to say that before I discovered this movie, I'd never even heard of Griselda Blanco.

By all accounts, Blanco was as formidable a woman as the day is long, and Zeta-Jones' performance really makes you feel it. Way to go! Catherine Zeta-Jones did a descent job for what she was given but that's about it. The writing was really bad. The DEA guy was an idiot and the scene's with him were completely unrealistic.
He basically comes in and gives some sort of idiotic reason as to why some guy should betray Blanco and wham bam they cave. Forget about their terror of what Blanco will do to them or their loved one's.
What would have been much better is if the writer had actually filled in his story and his relationship with Blanco.
This story does not follow fact's about the cocaine godmother and play's really loose. Lot's of hole's and you really need to research the true fact's if you want to fill in some of the glaring gap's if you care that much. This in my opinion was a low budget b fluff show that should have not been a life time movie but a series or even a mini movie and had better writers.
But for brainless fluff for an evening of lazy tv it's ok. Catherine Zeta-Jones is phenomenal in this movie. The story portrayed in this movie is not the same story reported in documentaries and books, even some of the names are not accurate. But the movie is entertaining One person found this helpful. She is completely miscast in this. Acting seems forced. Not buying her as anyone vicious or cruel.
